5. Juni Streckenflug von Verdersö Klint
Da es für uns bereits unser Abfahrtstag war hatte Tomy die glorreiche Idee doch die Heimfahrt zu nützen um weitere für uns noch unentdeckte Fluggebiete zu erforschen...unter anderen war da so ein Strecken-Dünenfluggebiet dabei...nur ca. 20 km südlich von Bovbjerg bei Verdersö.
Also sind wir dort gegen 14:00 Uhr eingetroffen und haben die perfekten Streckenflugbedingungen sofort nützen können...es war wohl für uns alle eine neue Erfahrung über nur ca. 5 -10 m hohe Dünen meist nur einige cm über den Sand schwebend zu Beginn gleich mal 10 km leicht gegen den Wind Richtung Bovbjerg zu fliegen.
Das war zwar anfangs gar nicht so eingeplant es gleich gegen den Wind zu versuchen, aber da es anfangs gleich so gut getragen hat haben wir Lunte gerochen und sind weiter geflogen was möglich war.
Danach ging`s dementsprechend rasant mit Windunterstützung zum Ausgangspunkt nach Verdersö zurück und sogleich weitere 10 km weiter südlich.
Um die Strecke zu zumachen haben wir dann die restlichen 10 km zurück nach Verdersö auch noch geschafft...was für ein Erlebnis am letzten Flugtag.
Ja, da sieht man wieder, wir haben noch lange nicht alle Flugrechnungen mit Dänemark beglichen.
Drum wird uns wohl nichts anderes übrig bleiben um auch im nächsten Jahr zu kommen um weitere Entdeckungen dieser Art so machen.
Daher...Dänemark, wir kommen wieder !!
5 June - Long Distance flight above the dunes of Verdersö
Since it was our last day Tomy had a great idea. Why shouldn`t we make use of the fact while going back to Austria to discover new flying sites along the west coast ?
So we arrived at around 2 p.m. at Verdersö Klint, a small village around 20 km south of Bovbjerg.
The wind seemed to be ideal to fly there and so we first tried to come as far as possible direction north to Bovbjerg against the wind.
We were all really surprised that even these small dunes (mostly between 5 -10 meters high) gave us such a nice lift that we could carry on with our flight till to the end of the duenes which was around 10 km.
Afterwards we were heading back to Verdersö with high speed due to the tailwind which was quite a challange for us since we were flying sometimes only a few cm above the ground.
So we decided to continue our flight as far as possible with the wind direction south which was another 10 km.
Having reached there we could manage to fly back till Verdersö where we parked the camping bus.
Well, we were really thrilled to manage to fly 40 km above the dunes...couldn`t image a better way to finish such a great flying week in Denmark !
